They lost their driving license for three months and will pay a fine of PLN 1,500 to PLN 2,000 for driving at a speed of over 100 kilometers per hour in built-up areas.

In recent days, only in the Płońsk district, five drivers have lost their driving license for driving too fast. Since the beginning of the year, Płońsk police have recorded as many as 113 such cases. Among the drivers with too “heavy leg” there was recently a 38-year-old woman driving a Kia. She was stopped for road control in Garwolewo when she was driving at a speed of 101 kilometers per hour, which is 51 km/h too much.

In Stara Wrona, the officers controlled another driver – a 35-year-old woman who was driving a Volkswagen in a built-up area 53 km/h too fast.

Another person who exceeded the speed limit in built-up areas by more than 50 km/h was a 32-year-old driver of an Opel. The man drove through the town of Wrona at a speed of 101 km/h.

On the national 62 in Wola, a 63-year-old Citroen driver fell into the hands of the police. He exceeded the speed by 55 km/h.

The infamous record holder of recent days, however, was a 48-year-old driving a Volkswagen. He drove the national “ten” through the town of Dzierzążnia at a speed of 113 km / h.

A call for sanity on the road

– All these people were punished with high fines and penalty points. For the speed limit range of 51 to 60 km/h, the amount of the fine is PLN 1,500 and 13 penalty points, while exceeding the speed by 61 to 70 km/h is a penalty ticket of PLN 2,000 and 14 points. The drivers also lost their driving licenses for three months, Commissioner Kinga Drężek-Zmysłowska of the Płońsk police said in a communiqué. – We appeal to drivers to be reasonable and prudent and to respect speed limits. Excessive speed is still one of the main causes of road accidents and has an impact on the scale of their consequences – he adds.
