Podłęcze. A cyclist collided head-on with a city bus. Investigation

– The investigation in this case is conducted by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Piaseczno and concerns an act under Art. 177 par. 2 of the Criminal Code, i.e. unintentional causing an accident with a fatal scooter – Szymon Banna, spokesman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw told us.

The accident near Piaseczno – in the village of Podłęcze – took place on Saturday morning. A local bus collided head-on with a cyclist. A 70-year-old man riding a two-wheeler could not be saved. Unofficially, after the accident, we heard that the cyclist was supposed to “welcome” the bus driver, then he lost his balance and drove under the wheels of the vehicle.

– At the scene of the accident, the officers of the Poviat Police Headquarters in Piaseczno, under the supervision of the prosecutor, inspected the accident site. Preliminary procedural activities carried out at the scene show that the man driving the bicycle was moving in the opposite lane to the bus involved in the incident, Banna said.

– During the evasive maneuver, the driver of the bicycle veered into the opposite lane, as a result of which there was a collision with the bus. The man driving the bus at the scene was subjected to a breath alcohol test. He was sober, he added.
