Due to the lack of data, the investigation was discontinued, which was conducted after last June at the holiday resort in Pogorzelica (West Pomeranian Voivodeship) in 122 people there was a poisoning of salmonella. Eight of them were then hospitalized.

The District Prosecutor's Office in Gryfice announced the discontinuation of the investigation into unintentional bringing danger, for the health of many people at the holiday center in Pogorzelica, by obtaining and placing on the market in issued meals, harmful to health, and foodstuffs.

Prosecutor Łukasz Błogowski, spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin, said that such a decision was made due to the lack of data justifying the suspicion of committing a crime.

– The only person to whom organizational issues belonged, including Nutrition, there was a manager, but his tasks did not include supervision or issues related to the nutrition block. We don't know how Salmonella's sticks found themselves in food. Therefore, we cannot attribute to any person to bring a life -threatening event and health to any person – he explained.

The decision is not final. The victim is entitled to read the case files and make a complaint to court.

Salmonella bacteria were detected in 122 people

On June 16, 2024, a dozen or so people from one of the holiday resorts with symptoms of food poisoning came to the holiday health care in Pogorzelica. Within a few days, the number of patients increased to 122.

Małgorzata Kapłan, spokeswoman for the Provincial Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Szczecin, said that the results of the research indicated that Salmonella was the reason for food poisoning. – Among the patients were patients and resort staff. Sick people had symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, fever, nausea, weakness – she added.

The State Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Gryfice determined that eight people were hospitalized.

The center in which infection took place passed control in the field of epidemiology and nutrition hygiene.
