Police officers warn against scammers who send messages with information about the activation of the erotic photo service. You can turn it off by sending a message, but this one is paid. The message created by criminals is actually used to extort money from frightened recipients.

The scam starts with an MMS message claiming that the recipient has an erotic photo service turned on. From the content of the message, he learns that he will receive erotic photos on his phone. The further part of the information contains instructions on how to unsubscribe from the service. To do this, send a message with the content “END” to the number indicated in the message. However, sending such a message will deplete our account by over PLN 11.

“The message created by the criminals is actually used to extort money from frightened recipients who, acting in panic and haste, want to cancel the service as soon as possible, which in fact they never activated” – warn the officers in the message.

What should I do if I receive a suspicious message?

“If you have received information about subscribing to any premium service and you do not know anything about it, it is best to contact your mobile network operator and ask the consultant about the given issue. For security, you can ask to block all SMS and WAP billing services” – they advise policemen. As they add, these are services where the fee is charged either for receiving a message or for entering a specific website. – In addition, read the regulations for the provision of this service. It should contain provisions on how to resign from it – complement the uniforms.
