There is a shortage of COVID-19 vaccines

New deliveries should hit the market in October. – The agreements are being finalized. The main deliveries of these vaccines will appear in October, and we are making some efforts to ensure that some of them also appear in September – the deputy minister informed at the end of August. This is to be the next generation of vaccines, appropriate for the latest mutation of the virus.

Poland, however, has fallen behind, because other European countries already have such vaccines. – Other countries already have a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), because there was a central purchase, and we had to organize a separate tender. The only company that has an approved vaccine did not participate in this tender – she explained on air Polsat News Minister of Health Izabela Leszczyna.

On the other hand, most people should get through it as standard (similar to the flu). – However, the vaccine is important, necessary – the minister emphasized nevertheless. If the shipment reaches Poland in September, priority for vaccination will be given to seniors and people with reduced immunity.
