The Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak announced that he had decided to create a military task force in the “Rengaw” operation near the border with Belarus. The purpose of the operation is to train the Polish Army in the Podlaskie Voivodship, near the border, and to form reserves in the event of a deterioration of the situation, he explained.
On Saturday, the head of the Ministry of National Defense visited Jarylówka in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, where a temporary camp of the army stationed on the border with Belarus.
– There is no doubt that the Polish border is in danger. We are witnessing an ongoing pressure on the Polish border, attempts by migrants to cross the border illegally, who are encouraged to do so by the Belarusian regime. There is no doubt that the Belarusian regime cooperates with the Kremlin. This action is aimed at Poland in order to destabilize our country. I am convinced that this action will fail, due to the service of the Polish Army and everything related to strengthening the border with Belarus – said the head of the Ministry of National Defense.
As he reminded, Operation “Gryf” is underway under the command of the Border Guard, aimed at sealing the border with Belarus. – Up to four thousand soldiers of the Polish Army supporting the Border Guard will take part in this operation, but I also decided to establish a military task force in the operation code-named “Rengaw” – announced the head of the Ministry of National Defense.
Błaszczak pointed out that one of the goals of the new operation is to train Polish Army soldiers in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, “near the border with Belarus”, and the other “to constitute a reserve in case the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border deteriorates”.
– The nature of this military task force is of a training and defense character – said the head of the Ministry of National Defense about the “Rengaw” operation. – Let’s remember this when we hear Kremlin propaganda, which says that the Polish Army is gathered at the border with Belarus. It is indeed collected, but to deter the aggressor and to strengthen the border and ensure security. This is how it is and will be, despite all these fake news, despite all these disinformation campaigns – he added.
