Poland’s Gross Domestic Product in the fourth quarter of 2022 increased by 2.0 percent on an annual basis, compared to a year-on-year increase of 3.6 percent in the third quarter of 2022, according to the Central Statistical Office’s release. The reading is in line with the previous GUS flash estimate.

WITH data from the Central Statistical Office investments in the fourth quarter increased by 4.9 percent. yoy, private consumption fell by 1.5 percent, while domestic demand rose by 1.1 percent. y/y

The consensus conducted by PAP Biznes shows that the market expected an increase in investments by 5.2 percent. yoy, decline in private consumption by 1.5 percent. yoy and an increase in domestic demand by 1.3 percent. y/y

Comments of economists

GDP in the fourth quarter it increased by 2% y/y (as estimated 2 weeks ago). Private consumption shrank by 1.5%, investments increased by 4.9% y/y. In the first quarter, we will probably see a decline in GDP on an annual basis,” Pekao economists wrote on Twitter.
