The pathogen that caused a norowirus bonfire was not detected – the Police Academy in Szczytno informed. In the opinion of the Provincial State Sanitary Inspector, it is probably one of the sick students infected the others. Another problem appeared that caused the pool to be closed.

The Police Academy in Szczytno announced on Tuesday's announcement that “the pathogen that caused a norowirus bonfire was not detected in the samples of both food and water, as well as the chef's staff of the Police Academy in Szczytno.”

The pathogen was detected two weeks ago, at that time about 100 students and listeners from all over the country fell ill. “The bonfire of the virus has been extinguished thanks to the immediate interruption of the chain of infections,” it was assured in a statement.

The Warmian-Masurian State Sanitary Inspector in Olsztyn Janusz Dzisko said that everything indicates that one sick person infected the others. – It was a virus that is commonly called stomach flu. In large clusters of people, and this was the case in Szczytno, it is very easy to get infected with, e.g. by using joint toilets – said the dziem. He emphasized that the disease affected nearly 100 people, and in the Police Academy there were 1.2 thousand at that time. people. “The situation was quickly controlled,” he emphasized.

In connection with the Norovirus focus, 10 people benefited from the help of SOR in Szczytno, the remaining patients were assisted by a medical clinic acting at the Academy.

Bacterium in water from the pool

Regardless of the norowirus bonfire, the Police Academy announced that in recent days, during routine water tests, in the pool belonging to the Sanepid Academy, he detected a bacterium of blue oil. “For this reason, the pool has been closed” – it was added, emphasizing that this is a situation that occurred regardless of Norovirus.

The pool will be opened after cleaning water and pool devices from blue oil.

Salmonella was poisoned in Kętrzyn

A month ago, collective food poisoning caused by Salmonella took place at the Border Guard Training Center in Kętrzyn. At that time, 153 people had the symptoms, 83 of them were hospitalized. Sanitary services could not be determined by the source of infection.

In the opinion of the Warmian-Masurian Voivode, Radosław Król, events at the Police Academy in Szczytno cannot be associated with the situation that took place in Kętrzyn.
