Police warn against SMS messages sent by fraudsters about the alleged need to pay for electricity. A resident of the Krosno poviat thus lost over PLN 800.
“Fraudsters are attacking again,” warns the police. Officers explained in the announcement that the perpetrators of fraud, pretending to be an energy supplier, send SMS messages to users. The content informs about the alleged small arrears for electricity, the failure of which is to cause disconnection of electricity. The message also includes a link to make the payment. However, do not respond to messages from scammers.

As they reported, a resident of the Krosno poviat learned about it quite acutely, who after the transaction was completed, wanting to check whether the transfer was made, “stated that over 800 zlotys were withdrawn from his account using the blik method”.
The police advise you not to do anything rashly and under time pressure. “Before we make a payment, we must verify that the situation described in the message actually takes place. We should never enter the links we have received, which redirect us to the bank’s false websites” – we read in the release.
