The Ministry of National Defense reported that six more K2 tanks were delivered from South Korea. They will go to the 20th Bartoszyce Mechanized Brigade. In total, 28 Black Panther vehicles have reached Poland so far.
“Another batch of modern weapons ordered from South Korea is already in Poland. This time, 6 K2 Black Panther tanks have arrived at the port of Gdynia,” the ministry wrote on Twitter. The vehicles will be handed over to the 20th Bartoszyce Mechanized Brigade, which is the beneficiary of all deliveries made so far.
In total, 28 K2 tanks have been delivered to Poland so far. This will allow you to equip two companies, 14 cars in each.
The Polish Army reminds that the transfer of the first batch of 10 tanks took place in December 2022, the second – five tanks – in March this year, and the third – seven tanks – in May.
Last year, Poland bought 180 K2 tanks for PLN 5.8 billion. The framework contract signed earlier provides for the purchase of 1,000 of these vehicles, of which 820 ordered in subsequent stages are to be manufactured under license in Poland. Poland also bought K9 gun-howitzers, K239 Chunmoo rocket launchers and FA-50 combat trainers from South Korea.
At the beginning of June, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak went on a visit to South Koreawhere the first public presentation of the FA-50 aircraft with Polish checkerboards and the Chunmoo launcher integrated with the Jelcz landing gear took place.
