“On the Polish-Belarusian border, we have already started building a net to protect animals from being injured,” said Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak via social media. “The mesh is created on both sides of the fence” – he added.
The state of emergency was introduced in some localities of the Podlaskie and Lubelskie voivodships in connection with the situation on the border with Belarus. The government asked for it. The president’s ordinance on this matter was published in the Journal of Laws and entered into force. Two more regulations on restrictions in a state of emergency have also appeared. On Monday, the presidential ordinance is to be dealt with by the Sejm. The Chamber may repeal them.
Błaszczak: the construction of a net to protect the animals has begun
On Sunday evening, the head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, said that “on the Polish-Belarusian border, we have already started building a net to protect animals from harm.” “The mesh is created on both sides of the fence” – he added.
The fence on the border with Belarus began last week in the region of the village of Zubrzyca Wielka in the province. Podlasie. The fence set up by the military consists of three layers of razor wire (concertina) arranged in a ring over a ring. The posts that are the basis for the concertina are buried over a meter into the ground. The fence is 2.5 meters high. Under the fence, on the outside, there are three-layer entanglements that make it difficult to approach the fence. In the first stage, the construction of a 150-kilometer section is planned. The next construction phase, 97 kilometers long, is also planned.
This fence – as a threat to people and animals – is criticized, among others, by Green politicians who said that they had already submitted an interpellation regarding the dangerous wire fence at the border. They also announced that they would submit a notification on this matter to the prosecutor’s office.
