On Saturday morning in Croatia, a Polish coach accident happened on the A4 motorway towards Zagreb. 12 people are dead and 32 are injured, including 19 seriously. They came to Croatia, among others Health Minister Adam Niedzielski and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Marcin Przydacz. President Andrzej Duda assured the cooperation with Croatian authorities and rescue services.

Agnieszka Puszczewicz, director of the Croatian Tourist Board, said on TVN24 that “Croatian media are shocked” by the accident.

– Not only the media themselves, but also all the inhabitants of Croatia. It really is a huge tragedy – she said. As she said, “Croats support us with all their strength” and added that “in Croats, Poles have their friends.” – This is how we treat them, going to them also for tourists, so we can count on them also in these difficult moments – said Puszczewicz.

Head of the Croatian Tourist Board: the wounded are taken to the best hospitals

The guests of TVN24 indicated that the injured, requiring immediate assistance, were transported “to the best hospitals available to Croatians”.

She also talked about what the tourist community she leads is doing regarding the tragedy. She said that “from the first information about this accident” she is in constant contact with both Polish and Croatian services. – We are absolutely available. We reported such disposition and readiness to help all services that coordinate the rescue operation and at the moment (the action – ed.) To help relatives – she assured.

Puszczewicz added that her organization is currently waiting for information on how it can help.
