“The priest is in the hospital and undergoes various treatments”

According to “Gazeta Wyborcza”, the victims include pilgrims from two parishes in Greater Poland: St. Wojciech in Konin-Morzysław and St. Mary in Konin.

“We received the information with great pain about the accident of the coach, which was also used by pilgrims from our parish. We recommend all those who died and those who are injured, along with all those suffering from this tragedy, to God in prayer” – she wrote on Facebook St. Wojciech.

– I had the opportunity to talk to the vicar priest from the parish of St. Wojciech in Konin, who also took part in this trip. He told me that not all people from our diocese survived the accident. Most likely there were mainly Konin residents with him, but I cannot say whether they were all from Konin, or only some of them. This priest himself lies in the hospital and undergoes various treatments, so this information is unfortunately quite imprecise, said the Polish Press Agency spokesman for the diocesan curia in Włocławek, Fr. Msgr.Artur Niemir.

He added that a group from this diocese joined the organizers of the pilgrimage and boarded a bus in Częstochowa. – The priest with whom I talked participated in the pilgrimage as a spiritual guardian. Every pilgrimage wants such people to be present. The priest informed me that the organizers were the Nazareth Sisters from Warsaw – indicated Fr. Monsignor Niemir.
