The Polish-German Rail Friendship Ticket is to be free for people up to 27 years of age, said Anna Szumańska, spokeswoman for the Ministry of Infrastructure. However, she emphasized that the pool of tickets is to be limited.

– According to the current assumptions, the ticket (Polish-German Friendship Ticket) is to be a free train ticket for people up to 27 years of age. The pool of tickets is to be limited, and the specific number is the subject of analyses and bilateral arrangements – informed the MI spokeswoman.

She added that the ticket is to be valid for 30 days and during this period it will allow the user to use trains of all categories within seven selected (not necessarily consecutive) days. Ticket holders will be able to travel on the ticket once and return to their country of residence once.

During the consultations and further work, the above assumptions may change, she noted.

As reported by the president of PKP Intercity, Janusz Malinowski, there are currently six Warsaw-Berlin trains running to Germany, one Gdynia-Poznań-Berlin train, one each from Przemyśl and Kraków to Berlin, and from December there will be an additional train from Przemyśl to Berlin.
