A fishing boat capsized in the Baltic Sea. Two crew members were pulled from the water by a rescue ship and are safe and sound. The third fisherman, unconscious, was thrown out onto the beach by the water – informed the Maritime Search and Rescue Service SAR. The services initiated a rescue operation.
The accident occurred on Saturday morning near Ustronie Morskie (Kołobrzeg County). A fishing boat capsized in the Baltic Sea. Two fishermen who were floating in the water were picked up by the rescue ship “Szkwał”.
An unconscious fisherman was washed up on the beach
– The third person from the crew, unconscious and not breathing, was washed up on the beach – said Rafał Goeck, spokesman for the Maritime Search and Rescue Service. He added that resuscitation was performed at the scene. The rescue helicopter transported the person to hospital.
Goeck said the remaining injured were “safe and sound, but cold.” – They were transported to the port in Kołobrzeg – he added.
