Pope Francis had a quiet night in the hospital, he is still resting – the Vatican said on Sunday.

On Saturday evening, it was announced in the medical newsletter that the clinical condition of 88-year-old Francis remains stable and after the Friday respiratory crisis there was no next. Non -invasive mechanical ventilation and high flow oxygen therapy are alternately used.

No fever or leukocytosis was found, i.e. an elevated level of white blood cells. As the Vatican sources explained, this is a particularly important result, because it indicates that there was no inflammation.

The newsletter indicates that hemodynamic parameters, i.e. blood flow dynamics, remain stable.

The Pope nourishes normally and continues oxygen physiotherapy, “actively cooperating”. He is “conscious and oriented” all the time.

Vatican sources emphasized that although subsequent signs of improvement are visible, Franciszek's state remains complex.
