A wild boar escaped from a stable in the Poznań Old Zoo. Visitors were evacuated while the animal was caught. The zoo was closed for an hour.
The incident occurred on Friday morning at the Old Zoo on Zwierzyniecka Street in Poznań. The garden has been operating as an animal park for years, and admission is free. It is a popular place for walks with children.
– The wild boar was frightened by the sound of the saw and decided to have a nice time in another part of the zoo. As a result, he got out of the stable unnoticed – says Anna Niewiada, manager of the Old Zoo in Poznań.
A recording of a wild boar running around the zoo appeared on Instagram by user @poznanmoment.
People were evacuated
As Niewiada reports, the zoo was closed for an hour. – We evacuated people in a polite manner, and there weren't many of them. We caught the wild boar and transported this naughty boy back to his stable. He's content and happy, and the saws have stopped working – he says.
As the director of the Old Zoo adds, the animal did not pose a major danger and the evacuation was preventive.
