An unexploded device was found at a construction site on Hawelańska Street in Poznań. It was decided to evacuate residents of nearby blocks of flats and workers.
At around 1 a.m., Poznań police received a report of an artillery shell found at a construction site on Hawelańska Street. A sapper patrol arrived at the scene and determined that it was an unexploded 203 mm caliber device.
They are evacuating 200 people
– The area was secured by officers, and the sapper patrol that arrived on the scene decided to evacuate the residents of three nearby blocks of flats and people working nearby, a total of about 200 people – says junior cadet Łukasz Paterski, press officer of the Poznań City Police Headquarters.
An evacuation operation is underway on site. An MPK bus has been provided in the area, where residents will be able to stay until the unexploded device is removed.
