Up to ten years in prison are facing three men who kidnapped a Poznań entrepreneur. The police search lasted several hours. The perpetrators were detained at a gas station. It is known that they held the kidnapped man in the trunk.
On Monday, the Poznań police set out to search for the owner of a service company. According to the report, the man had been abducted from his office. – After less than a few hours of establishing, reviewing recordings from monitoring and operational activities, the trail led to one of the towns near Poznań – informed junior inspector Andrzej Borowiak, spokesman for the Greater Poland police.
A pursuit team from the criminal department of the Poznań police set off to the scene. While driving past the gas station, the officers noticed the Skoda they had been looking for. – There was a tied-up kidnapped man in the trunk of the car. The police detained two men. One of them, as it turned out, was a client of the kidnapped businessman. The third perpetrator was detained two hours later in a different location – Borowiak said.
They heard the charges
The police collected evidence and forwarded it to the District Prosecutor's Office of Poznań Nowe Miasto. The suspects were charged with kidnapping and extortion.
– This type of crime is punishable by up to 10 years in prison. All suspects were temporarily arrested by the court at the request of police officers and prosecutors – Borowiak added.
