Poznań. They offered plastic surgeries on the Internet, two women were hospitalized after them in a serious condition

Three people working in one of the aesthetic medicine clinics in Poznań were detained by the police and charged. Clinics offered treatments on the Internet at favorable prices. – They were carried out in rooms that did not meet any sanitary requirements – informs kom. Maciej Święcichowski from the Wielkopolska police.

The case began in June last year. The police received information about an unlicensed doctor who was supposed to perform surgical procedures. According to the investigators, at least two of his patients were hospitalized in serious condition after the procedures. – As part of the procedural activities, medical documentation was secured and court experts were appointed. Explaining the case, the police determined that the clinic advertised on the Internet, offering cosmetic and surgical procedures at very favorable prices. As it was established, surgical procedures were performed in rooms that did not meet any sanitary requirements for medical procedures, explains com. Maciej Święcichowski from the press office of the Greater Poland Police.

Police are still trying to determine if there are any other victims in connection with this case.

Allegations against the doctor and co-owners

A 35-year-old woman, a 37-year-old man and a 43-year-old doctor were detained at the end of December. Police supervision and property guarantees were applied to them. The doctor was banned by the court from practicing his profession. – Police officers have secured over PLN 80,000 for future penalties – Święcichowski said.

In the course of the activities carried out, the doctor was charged with exposing people to a direct danger of loss of life or serious damage to health by a person who is under the obligation of care, exposure to serious damage to health, as well as violation of the function of a body organ or causing a health disorder. The co-owners of the clinic were charged with aiding and abetting in the immediate danger of loss of life or serious damage to health.

A doctor who performs surgical procedures for the alleged crimes is liable to imprisonment for a term of not less than three years. The owners of the clinic face up to five years in prison.
