Police officers from Poznań detained the driver of a Skoda Fabia who did not stop for inspection. The car he was driving turned out to be stolen.

On Monday, around 10 am, traffic police officers tried to stop the driver of a Skoda Fabia on Bałtycka Street for inspection. Seeing the police car and uniformed police officers, the man began to accelerate, and the officers gave chase.

They pushed the car off the road

– After driving about a kilometer, the policemen decided to use the police car as a means of direct coercion – they cut the driver off the road and made him stop the vehicle – explains Sgt. staff. Łukasz Paterski from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Poznań.

Both the man’s car and the police car landed in the ditch. After the arrest, the man got out of the car and started running towards the forest. The officers quickly arrested him. As a result of this incident, nothing happened to anyone, Paterski said.

The police officer admitted that there is no information yet whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Both the license plates and the car in which the man was fleeing had previously been stolen. – We will thoroughly explain the circumstances of this event – said Kom. Maciej Święcichowski from the press team of the Wielkopolska police.
