Police from Poznań detained a 28-year-old who was supposed to threaten tram passengers on Tuesday evening. The man was carrying a knife. The suspect was overpowered by officers. The police asks the witnesses of the incident and the victims to contact them.
The incident took place on Tuesday evening in Poznań. According to the police, the suspect initially moved towards the city center, traveling by tram no. 8. Later, at the Śródka roundabout, he changed to tram no. 16 headed for Franowo in Poznań. The man was carrying a knife.
– He was supposed to threaten other people with this knife earlier, those who were at the stop, but also passengers of trams – said Marta Mróz, a spokeswoman for the Poznań police. The 28-year-old was detained around 21 at ul. Kórnicka. – Luckily nothing serious happened. The 28-year-old was quickly overpowered and arrested, and the knife was secured – emphasized Mróz.
The detained man was drunk. He had over two per mille of alcohol in his body. It is known that the 28-year-old has had police records in the past.
They are looking for the aggrieved
The policemen explain the circumstances of the event. They are also looking for witnesses. – All people who witnessed this event at that time or felt aggrieved, please urgently contact the policemen from the Poznań-Nowe Miasto police station – said Mróz.
