There are fewer and fewer people willing to vaccinate against COVID-19, which is why such a large point as the one at the Poznań International Fair is no longer needed. 150 people will receive vaccines here on Wednesday. This is the last day of operation of the largest vaccination point in Wielkopolska.
In terms of content, the Clinical Hospital of the Transfiguration of the Lord at the Medical University of Karol Marcinkowski in Poznań. On Tuesday, the head doctor of the hospital, dr hab. Dr. Szczepan Cofta informed that the vaccination center at the Poznań International Fair was suspending its activity. The reason for this decision – as he pointed out – is the decreasing number of people reporting for COVID-19 vaccinations in the city of Poznań.
For some time now, due to the small number of volunteers, the point was vaccinated only twice a week: on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The hospital website announced that the last scheduled vaccinations for those who have registered for vaccination will be given on Wednesday 15 September. It is known that this is a group of about 150 people. Those who took the first doses on the premises of MTP, will have to report to a new designated place for the second portion of the preparation. – We want to move the point to the hospital at Szamarzewski Street and we will continue vaccinating there. A large vaccination point is unnecessary at the moment, said Cofta. On Tuesday, government websites said that fully vaccinated – i.e. with two doses of preparations from Pfizer / BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca or with a single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine – there are over 19 123 thousand in Poland. people.
Vaccinations against COVID-19 were carried out on the premises of MTP from January 11. There is another large vaccination point in Poznań, located at the stadium on Bułgarska Street. – In this case, the contract with the National Health Fund ends at the end of September. The question is whether it will continue to function in the same form – reports TVN24 reporter Łukasz Wójcik, who deals with this case.
