The president is returning to his strong and expressive rhetoric, which I think is probably unnecessary in our public debate – said Adam Bodnar, Minister of Justice and Attorney General, in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24. He referred to Andrzej Duda's words regarding the decisions of the National Electoral Commission. He also added that “maybe a quick amendment to the Act on the Supreme Court is needed.”

The Minister of Justice referred to the president's words on Monday in the program Andrzej Dudawho commented on the failure of the National Electoral Commission to approve the decision of the unrecognized chamber of the Supreme Court regarding the committee's financial report PIS from the 2023 elections. – This post-communist hydra, which is constantly defending and feeding the remnants of the communist lie-elites in Polandtoday she gave voice once again, as I understand it, in NEC – said the president, among others.

Bodnar on the president's words: he returns to his strong rhetoric

– It is a bit surprising that the president returns to his rhetoric, which is very strong and expressive, and I think probably unnecessary in our public debate – commented Bodnar.

– Excuse me, are these people (the president is talking about – editor) in their forties who sit in various Polish courts, who adjudicate, who were educated already in the times of free Poland? – he said.

– If I looked at President Andrzej Duda, he (editor's note) had already developed a lot in the 1990s and it would be difficult to call people like his generation using such colorful adjectives – he added. – I don't think that's the point. It's just that Mr. President, as I understand it, uses various arguments to claim that everything he has authorized with his signature over the years should simply remain unchanged, commented Bodnar.

Bodnar: perhaps a quick amendment to the Act on the Supreme Court is needed

Bodnar also referred to the words of the chairman of the National Electoral Commission, Sylwester Marciniak, who said that postponing the decision on this matter could lead to paralysis in the presidential elections. – The National Electoral Commission definitely works if it makes specific decisions. I don't quite understand what the judge, chairman of the National Electoral Commission, had in mind in the context of the presidential elections – said the Minister of Justice.

– I hope there will be no such situation (as in Romaniawhere the first round of elections was invalidated – ed.), but various types of disputes may arise, the election results may be somewhere on the border, and the question arises whether we have a court, an arbitrator who would be able to resolve these disputes – continued Bodnar .

He also stated that “perhaps there is a need to quickly amend the Act on the Supreme Court and transfer this competence to a chamber in which real Supreme Court judges sit, or simply (transfer – ed.) to the full bench of the Supreme Court.”
