On Monday, President Andrzej Duda awarded people involved in the help of people during the war in Ukraine for their actions and attitude. He said that there is no doubt that it is in the interest of Poland to “last independent and sovereign Ukraine” and expressed the hope that the war would end with a “fair and durable room.”
During the ceremony, they were awarded to the Golden Cross of Merit by Halina Kozinkiewicz, Anna Kudzia and Jakub Wojtuń and the Silver Cross of Merit by Wojciech Dyrkacz, Stanisław Łopuszyński, Marcin Rogoziński and Sebastian Zimny. The Cross of Merit for bravery was awarded to Andrzej Domka, Damian Duda, Jakub Szczerba and Adrian Zelga. Paweł Kukiz-Szczuciński received the same award for the second time.
During the Monday ceremony of awarding state decorations, the president noted that this ceremony falls on the third anniversary of the full -scale explosion wars in Ukraine. On the one hand, he spoke about the heroism of defending Ukrainians, and on the other – “about our duties as a free world towards Ukraine fighting with Russian aggression.”
– It is a great honor for me and at the same time pride that I can give you these decorations as those who represented the interests of the Polish -Lithuanian Commonwealth in this most noble sense of the word – said the president.

He noted that they did it in different ways: a part through scientific work, acting for the development of medical cooperation, and others “through medical assistance on the front line with exposure to his life and unimaginable sacrifice” or providing help where it is needed.
– Thank you for having your daily service (…) you act in this way directly – not in the sphere of politics, international discussions, just like me, but directly, touching, helping another person. This is also extremely important for building relationships with Ukrainewith the society of Ukraine, with people – emphasized the president.
Duda: It is in the interest of the Commonwealth that the independent Ukraine lasts
Duda said that there is no “any doubt that in the deepest interest of the Polish -Lithuanian Commonwealth it was a sovereign and independent Ukraine.” “That she would decide about herself, that she could choose her authorities every time in an undisturbed manner, on the principles of a democratic process, that she could develop and that we could be her neighbor and build our prosperity together,” he continued.
– I would like to make it happen in the economic sense and neighborly cooperation within the European Union, but in the sense of security also and as part of the North Atlantic Alliance – he emphasized.
The president also expressed the hope that the war would end with a “fair and lasting room.” – One that will never be disturbed by Russian aggression to Ukraine or any other neighboring state – he noted.
