President Andrzej Duda arrived in New York on the night from Saturday to Sunday Polish time. He will take part in the general debate of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly. The president's visit to the US will last four days.
The president is accompanied by the first lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda. Visit to USA will last until Wednesday.
On Sunday afternoon, the presidential couple will visit the National Shrine of Our Lady of CzÄ™stochowa in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, where they will attend mass and then the unveiling of the Solidarity Monument. The Pauline-run sanctuary – called the American CzÄ™stochowa – is an important place for the Polish diaspora, where a copy of the Jasna Góra painting is located.

President delivers a message of peace at the UN
The most important point of the program – on Tuesday evening – will be the president's speech in the general debate of the 79th session of the General Assembly UN.
Before leaving for the US, the president said that this would be his tenth and also farewell session of the UN General Assembly. He recalled that his first speech 10 years ago focused on the message of “peace through law”. – We said that we must strive for a world that is governed by law, that is established by law, not by the law of force. And this message is still relevant and I will also talk about it during this UN Assembly – announced Duda.
On Wednesday Andrzej Duda He will meet with the presidents of the Baltic states and will also participate in the open debate of the UN Security Council “Leadership for Peace”.
A series of bilateral meetings and a reception
During the visit to New York, bilateral meetings were planned: with the Chairman of the Presidium Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Becirovic, UN Secretary General António Guterres, Council of Europe Secretary General Alain Berset, Prime Minister Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, President of the World Jewish Congress Ronald S. Lauder, and President of the Democratic Republic of Congo Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo. At the end of their visit to the USA, the Polish presidential couple will take part in a reception hosted by the President of the USA Joe Biden at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Andrzej Duda expressed hope that during the reception he would talk to Joe Biden “at least for a moment”.
