Thursday’s visit of the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda to the war port in Gdynia was canceled due to weather conditions. A storm was passing over the sea at that time. The head of the National Security Bureau, Jacek Siewiera, announced that the visit would take place as soon as possible.
Thursday at 15th president Andrzej Duda was to pay a working visit to the Maritime Operations Center and the 3rd Ship Flotilla in Gdynia. The president was to be presented with an assessment of the current security situation in the Baltic Sea, including in the context of the exercises of the naval forces of the Russian Federation that began on Wednesday.
Before ORP Gen. K. Pułaski, a press briefing with the participation of the president is planned.
Landing four times, the president’s plane turned around
On Thursday afternoon, the president’s visit to Gdynia was thwarted by rapidly deteriorating weather conditions.
– Unfortunately, the weather conditions have clearly deteriorated – said the head of the National Security Bureau Jacek Siewiera. – The president’s delegation was on its way to the site. Over the Kossakowo airport in Gdynia, it made four approaches to land. By decision of the pilot, the plane returned to Warsaw due to weather conditions – he explained.
