The presidential debate between RafaƂ Trzaskowski and Karol Nawrocki began with the subject of public health. The candidate KO asked the PiS candidate about in vitro. Here's what citizens and citizens heard.

At 20.00 the presidential debate began before the second round of presidential elections on June 1. The first thematic block concerned health. RafaƂ Trzaskowski asked Karol Nawrocki a question about whether as the president he would “fight in vitro and tried to vete up such ideas.” He reminded that Nawrocki's environment – that is PIS – “Fighting in vitro, took this program.”

Nawrocki answers the question about in vitro

– I will not be sure with initiatives around this type of program – replied Nawrocki. – These initiatives of course happen, with the Lord in local government, in other local governments. Citizens of the Polish state were born in Poland in Poland – he added.

– I have talked about it more than once in public that I will not be a great opponent, I will not counteract local government projects that are going on, and children who are born or which are in the world from in vitro, I will take care of as all other citizens of the Polish state. However, for my initiatives in this topic because of my worldview the state and the Lord cannot count – said Nawrocki.

In vitro – how many children were born

On Thursday, the Ministry of Health announcedthat only in 2024 over 28,000 couples applied to participate in the government infertility treatment program, and 23.5 thousand were qualified. Minister of Health Izabela Leszczyna She said that by the end of April 951 children were born, whose parents used a refund, and soon a thousandth child from this program would be born.

Almost PLN 411 million was allocated for the implementation of the program last year, and PLN 2.5 billion was planned by the end of 2028.
