PiS presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki assured on Wednesday that he was not ashamed of anything that fell at the meetings of the College of the Institute of National Remembrance, of which he is the president. He also emphasized that he did not issue any decision not to share the transcripts to the MPs of the Civic Coalition applying for it.
MPs of the Civic Coalition Jolanta Niezgodzka and Alicja Łepkowska-Golaś They applied to the Institute of National Remembrance for transcripts from meetings of the College of the Institute of National RemembranceBecause they wanted to find out why its members – and therefore people who cooperate with the president of Nawrocki – speak critical opinions about him. As reported on Tuesday, the application for access to transcripts submitted, both on the basis of the Act on the implementation of the mandate of a deputy and senator, as well as in the procedure of the Act on access to public information, was rejected.
Karol Nawrocki During the Wednesday press conference in Skierniewice, he was asked what was secret in the transcripts of the meeting of the College of the Institute of National Remembrance that he did not agree to their disclosure to MPs of KO. – There is nothing secret. All these meetings are recorded and recorded, so there are official discussions of the College of the Institute of National Remembrance – he replied.
He also expressed his surprise by receiving such a question. – I am not completely responsible for this issue and for providing transcripts of the College of the Institute of National Remembrance. His host is the chairman of the college (Prof. Wojciech Polak – ed.) – explained Nawrocki.

Nawrocki: I did not issue any decision not to share these protocols
Nawrocki assured that “he was not ashamed of anything that was at the meeting of the College of the Institute of National Remembrance.” – I did not issue any decision not to share these protocols. There are specific procedures that may not allow it, or the position of people who take part in the meeting of the College – he said.
As he noted, this is the only body at the Institute, which he is not the boss. – The College of the Institute of National Remembrance is a supervisory board, in such quotes, president of the Institute of National Remembrance, so this is a misunderstanding – he assured.
Asked if he would be in favor of the transcripts to be open, he replied: – I can't say that I would be for it.
– He takes in them (in college – ed.) The participation of a dozen or so professors, there are specific procedures, also this is not the question to me (…). I don't know what this matter is about in the context of MPs and the fact that I do not want to share it. This is probably another fake news – he assessed.
Statement of the spokesman for the Institute of National Remembrance
IPN spokesman Rafał Leśkiewicz stated on Wednesday that “it is not true to say that it was refused to provide transcripts of the meeting of the College of the Institute of National Remembrance at a request submitted under the Act on access to public information.”
In his opinion, the application for access to the transcripts of all meetings of the College of the Institute of National Remembrance from July 2021 to June 2023 is not subject to arranged pursuant to the Act on access to public information, “because the transcripts from the meetings of the College of the Institute of National Remembrance do not have the attribute of public information” within the meaning of this Act.
“It is also unacceptable to suggest that” secret “of internal documents from the meeting of the IPN college may be related to the employee matters raised at the meeting,” it was indicated in the statement of the IPN spokesperson.
