Presidential election 2025. Record turnout – where it was the highest, where the lowest

Along with the official results of the first round of presidential elections, the National Electoral Commission also provided data on attendance. This turned out to be record -breaking – it amounted to over 67 percent and was the highest ever recorded in the first round. Where was the highest? What did she look like in individual voivodships?

PKW officially summed up the first round of presidential elections. Her winner was Rafał Trzaskowski, who won 31.36 percent. all votes. The second best result, 29.54 percent, was obtained by Karol Nawrocki. Next were Sławomir Mentzen (14.81 percent) and Grzegorz Braun (6.34 percent). There were over 29 million Poles entitled to vote. It has exercised this right 67.31 percent of them. Thus, the turnout in the first round of presidential elections turned out to be the highest in the history of the Third Polish Republic. A higher percentage of voting in the presidential election was recorded only twice – in 1995 and 2020 – in both cases, however, we are talking about the second, decisive turns. In 1995, the turnout in the second round was 68.23 percent, and in 2020 68.18 percent.

Attendance in the presidential election 2025

Krynica Morska became the commune with the highest attendance. 83.51 percent went there to polling stations. all entitled to vote. The worst in this respect was the Zębowice commune in the Opolskie Voivodeship, where the turnout was 41.61.

A clearly higher turnout was recorded in cities than in the countryside. Especially many people have exercised voting rights in the largest urban centers, with the number of inhabitants exceeding 500,000. There, the turnout was on average 76.12 percent. It was the lowest in small municipalities below 5,000 residents, where it was 61, 23 percent

Turnout of up to 100 percent

Data on the turnout from policy abroad also look interesting. In 5 countries it reached as much as 100 percent. They were: Iran, Lithuania, Latvia, Malaysia and Serbia. The number of entitled to vote, however, was relatively low there and amounted to: 28, 521, 493, 149 and 218 people. Among the EU countries, the attendance of Polish citizens also voting in the Czech Republic – 95.76 percent, Hungary – 94.44, Austria – 94.42, Slovenia – 93.27 and Slovakia – 92.87. The lowest attendance was recorded among Poles voting in the Dominican Republic – 71.43 percent, Tunisia – 71.68, Turkey – 73.08, Panamie – 75.56 and Peru – 78.23.

The average attendance abroad was much higher than in Poland. It amounted to exactly 89.21 percent, which is 21.9 percentage points more than national attendance. Not without significance for its height, however, is the fact that voters are not assigned to the machine to foreign voting circuits. And people who previously undertake the necessary formalities are usually more determined to finally go to vote.
