Presidential election 2025. “Something very interesting happened, PiS voters believed”

This disqualifies to exercising any serious office – said sociologist dr hab. Przemysław Sadura, talking about the “clinical case of lack of sensitivity to human harm” by Sławomir Mentzen. Political scientist dr. hab. Barbara Brodzińska-Mirrowska talked about the election campaign of Karol Nawrocki and the fact that “the staff and PiS voters believed that he could win these elections”.

On Saturday in “Facts after Facts” on TVN24 dr. hab. Barbara Brodzińska-Mirrowska and dr hab. Przemysław Sadura was asked if the confederation candidate for president Sławomir Mentzen would lose that on the day of national mourning – announced due to the funeral Pope Francis – He did not stop running his election campaign.

– I think that from the point of view of the electorate (Mentzen – ed.) And its structure will not have any shocking impression. However, he aims at a group of young people – said Brodzińska -Mirrowska.

Sadura said, however, that “once again Mentzen does not show, and to put it gently, empathy and a sense of moment, and this lack of human sensitivity cost him a nice few percentage points.” He reminded statement of the confederation candidate who, when asked about his position regarding abortion after rapehe said that “innocent children are not allowed to kill, even if this child is associated with some unpleasantness.”

– Determining the rape of some unpleasantness, this is some clinical case of lack of sensitivity to human harm. This is absolutely disqualified, in my opinion, to hold any serious office, not to mention the most important office in the state – said TVN24 guest.

TVN24 guests talked about the current stage of the election campaign, as well as events planned for Sunday with the participation of Karol Nawrocki and Rafał Trzaskowski. – We are definitely entering this last stage and he will be crucial. – A lot of work before Trzaskowski, a lot of work before Karol Nawrocki. However, I think that something very interesting has happened when it comes to Karol Nawrocki. I think the staff and voters PiS They believed that he could win these choices and this is very dangerous. We'll see how tomorrow, whether he will feel these emotions – said the professor.

Asked what caused PiS voters believed in Nawrocki's victory, she replied: – Debates. And the fact that Karol Nawrocki fell out better than everyone expected.

The second round of “razor” and a negative campaign

Brodzińska -Mirrowska pointed out that “she does not approach the polls (electoral – ed.)”. – I look at the predictions that are good. They show that there will be razor blades on the second round – she explained.

Sadura was asked about the importance of Nawrocki's Sunday election convention in Łódź and Trzaskowski's election rally in Poznań. – I would not overestimate the importance of these events, because time is specific. This is the moment, one between the spring Kanikuła and the picnic (…). The meaning of these events will be much smaller than the debate – he said. He explained that “the campaign would seriously start again after the picnic”.

– This is a difficult time for the campaign. Interrupted by Easter, interrupted with a picnic, but it is also important with what emotions of people we will leave for their grills and their May walks. In my opinion, he did not use Trzaskowski's staff to take the initiative after this unsuccessful debate and leave people for Christmas with some emotion – said Brodzińska -Mirrowska.

She stated that “the implementation of a further campaign in the style that was provided before the debate was no reason to be.”

– Rafał Trzaskowski's campaign requires a change in dynamics, although he is a favorite and still has resources from which he can draw in the second round. Changing dynamics in fact comes down to the introduction of a negative campaign, because it basically polarizes it today. That's what the staff meant – she said. As the professor added, Trzaskowski's staff “has no way out”.
