At the election evening on May 18 Sławomir Mentzen, who in the first round presidential elections He took third place (with the support of 14.81 percent) announced that before the second round, in which Rafał Trzaskowski and Karol Nawrocki will face on June 1, he would help his voters make a choice.

Then Mentzen referred to the matter of Nawrocki's apartment. “I don't feel convinced by Nawrocki's explanations, I don't buy this story all the time,” he admitted.

– A very big plus for signing the declaration, but minus for credibility, for a lack of courage to face the past – he concluded.

Mentzen: Trzaskowski had a much more confrontational tactics

Then the leader of the Confederation moved to discussing a conversation with Rafał Trzaskowski. He admitted that it was a “completely different conversation”. – It was a completely different tactic, much more confrontational (than Nawrocki – ed.) – he added. Mentzen said that the “diametrical difference” between him and Trzaskowski concerned a law on freedom of speech.

As he continued, another significant difference concerned the support of Ukraine's accession to NATO. “My opinion is that Trzaskowski is not aware of the consequences of joining Ukraine to NATO,” he said.

To sum up the conversation with the President of Warsaw, Mentzen said that he did not find a response to what would change if Trzaskowski became a new tenant of the Presidential Palace. “I see no reason to vote for Rafał Trzaskowski,” he said.
