Joanna Senyszyn, former SLD MP, economist and academic teacher, announced that she was collecting signatures to run in the presidential elections. She stated that Poland needs an independent president who will not be anyone's “pen”. Dominika Jasińska also announced her participation in the elections, presenting herself as an “independent and apolitical candidate.”
In a statement published on social media on Monday, Senyszyn emphasized that Poland needs a president who would ensure “peace, security and prosperity” for its citizens. In the opinion of a former activist SLDsuch a president should be brave and independent, and she should make decisions with the good of the homeland in mind – not the party's interests, and without being anyone's “pen”.
Senyszyn added that she has been teaching compliance throughout her life human rightstolerance, equality, and respect for people and animals. “I am building a Poland that is open and fair to all citizens without exception. Over 50 years of academic work, I have educated thousands of students who work for these values,” she wrote.

Senyshyn: I'm seasoned in battle
Senyszyn said in an interview with the Polish Press Agency that citizens who do not want to vote either Law and Justicenor for the ruling coalition, only right-wing candidates remain – so they may not take part in the elections. – That's why I decided to run for office – said Senyszyn. – Poles want an independent president who will not be anyone's pen and will be guided by the good of the homeland, not the good of the party – said the former MP. – I'm not afraid and never have been. The campaign will certainly be fierce and the fights will be fierce, but I am seasoned in battles – I have been in politics for 25 years – added Senyszyn.
Joanna Senyszyn, born in 1949, is a member of the Sejm of the 4th, 5th, 6th and 9th terms, a former activist of the Democratic Left Alliance, and a former member of the Polish Socialist Party. In the years 2009-2014, a member of the European Parliament of the 7th term. An economist by education, she was, among others, the rector of the University of Business and Administration in Gdynia, as well as the dean of the Faculty of Management at the University of Gdańsk. She is also a long-time president of the “Polka pozna” association and the Gdynia branch of the Animal Welfare Society.

Dominika Jasińska, a certified trainer of Nonviolent Communication and mediator, also announced her willingness to run in the presidential elections.
As you can read on the website “Embracing Poland”, Jasińska's project in connection with running for president, she presents herself as an “independent and apolitical candidate” who “aims to build unity, consent and understanding among Polish women and men as a foundation for development Polish”.
“Her vision of the presidency is based on values such as respect and co-responsibility. She wants, above all, to strengthen Poles' sense of worth by raising awareness and education. She assumes that it provides strong guarantees of security, strength and agency, features that she believes are particularly important at the current moment in history. He considers high self-esteem to be crucial in building the image of Poland as a leader and partner. It increases the credibility of our country,” we read.

Presidential elections 2025 – candidates
In accordance with the regulation of the Speaker of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia presidential elections will take place on May 18and the second round – June 1. The pool of candidates is growing. Members of the Civic Coalition were elected in the primary elections Rafał Trzaskowskiand Law and Justice chose the president of the Institute of National Remembrance Karol Nawrocki. Szymon Hołownia from Poland 2050 also announced his start, supported by PSLSławomir Mentzen from Konfederacja, Marek Jakubiak from Free Republicans, Marek Woch from Nonpartisan Local Government and non-party deputy marshal Magdalena Biejat, supported by the Left. Presidential elections 2025 – electoral procedures
The electoral committee of a presidential candidate may be formed by at least 15 citizens with the right to vote. To create a committee, the following is required: the candidate's written consent to stand as a candidate and to establish his committee. Candidates born before August 1, 1972 must attach a vetting declaration. In addition, the signatures of 1,000 citizens supporting the candidate are attached to the application.
After collecting 1,000 signatures in support of the candidate, the representative of the electoral committee notifies the National Electoral Commission about the establishment of the committee. Only after the committee was registered by NEC he can conduct agitation.
The next step in the presidential election campaign will be to nominate a candidate for president – the deadline for doing so is April 4 at 4 p.m. In order for the candidate to be registered by the National Electoral Commission, it is necessary to collect at least 100,000 signatures in support of him.
