There were a lot of stories, but most often we were dealing with only stories, propaganda or, unfortunately, a total botch – said presidential candidate Rafał Trzaskowski (KO), referring to the economic projects of the previous government. PiS candidate Karol Nawrocki said during his meetings with voters, among others: for the defense of the Polish state and striving to build a 300,000-strong army if he wins this year's presidential elections.

During Sunday's press conference in Elbląg, KO's presidential candidate Rafał Trzaskowski assessed the economic investments of the previous government. – What happened in Elbląg with the excavation of the Spit (Vistula – ed.) shows, as if through a lens, how PIS treated investments. He talked about big investments, but nothing happened at all, he said.

Trzaskowski pointed out that “there were a lot of stories, but most often we were dealing with only stories, propaganda or, unfortunately, a total botch.” – The ditch has been completed, but unfortunately the waterway has not been brought to Elbląg itself and only now are we able to do it (…). Thanks to this, Elbląg can become one of the most important ports – he emphasized.

Trzaskowski referred to project for the construction of the Central Communication Port. – The project was completely unprepared and only now, after a year, has this program been adapted to reality and we can all support it because it is a program that will simply be implemented in a pragmatic and effective way – he said. He added that “the PiS version of CPK consisted of a few guys who paid millions for guarding the field.”

He also drew attention to the issue of building nuclear power plants. Trzaskowski declared that “we finally have the money for it and the construction is finally starting.” When asked about what is at stake in this year's presidential elections, the candidate of the Civic Coalition said: – First of all, democracy, above all, strengthening our country (…). It's about a healthy economy, security, ensuring that Poland remains equal, but above all, that we have an active and independent president.

Nawrocki about Poland's defense and relations with the USA

PiS candidate Karol Nawrocki met on Sunday with the residents of Redzikowo in Pomerania, where the American anti-missile base is located. During his speech he referred, among others, to: to defense issues.

– My presidency will be another step towards building the largest NATO land army in Europe, a 300,000-strong Polish army, and fulfilling the contracts signed before October 15, 2023 to build the military resilience of the Polish state – declared Nawrocki.

He assessed that the presidency Donald Trumpwho will take office in the White House on January 20, is a “great opportunity” for Poland to make “Poland in the European Union a leader in building relationships and transatlantic bridges.” Nawrocki noted that if elected president, he would continue “the important work done by President Andrzej Duda by building relations with Americans.”

When asked about the issue of Ukraine in NATO, he said that “both accession to NATO and the European Union should go through the entire procedure that determines whether a country becomes a member state.” In Nawrocki's opinion, the starting point for this procedure “is also (…) settling accounts with the terrible crimes of Ukrainian nationalists in Volhynia.”

He also pointed out that it is in Poland's geopolitical interest to provide military, military and financial support to Ukraine. – There is no doubt about it. However, I do not agree to talk about the unconditionality of Ukraine's admission to the European Union and NATO, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, to not treat Ukraine as a partner. We have the right to conduct our business, and one of them is to start the exhumation. In politics, there is a certain reciprocity of relations, Nawrocki noted.
