I am one of the people who are supposedly being considered – said Tobiasz Bocheński, MEP of Law and Justice, in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24. He responded in this way to the question about the potential candidate of this party in next year's presidential elections. Andrzej Halicki, MEP of the Civic Coalition, stated that Rafał Trzaskowski is the “natural” candidate of his group.
Prime minister Donald Tusk During a press conference on Friday, he said he was “not personally interested in the elections” for president, which will be held in 2025.
The potential candidates in these elections were discussed in the Friday edition of “Fakty po Faktach” by MEPs Andrzej Halicki (Civic Coalition) and Tobiasz Bocheński (Law and Justice).
Halicki: I keep dreaming, maybe it's a bit naive
Andrzej Halicki asked about a possible start for the mayor of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowskisaid that this politician “is a natural and mentioned candidate”. – And I think also accepted by partners – he said.
– I still dream, it may be a bit naive, that there will be one common candidate in the entire coalition already in the first round. I think that these are such important elections that common sense should prevail, not emotions or ambitions – said Halicki.
– I don't think that we really need to force something that ultimately decides the future of Poland. It's worth reaching an agreement, and even these parliamentary elections have shown that it was possible to reach an agreement – he declared.
At the same time, the KO MEP stated that he does not want to “demote or minimize anyone”. – Quite the opposite, I believe that the bigger one, as if by nature, must withdraw and must take this step back. We are only talking about something that is fundamentally important for our future – he added.

Tobiasz Bocheński was asked about the stage of selecting a presidential candidate in Law and Justice.
– There is an analytical team made up of experienced Law and Justice politicians who are analyzing individual candidates. I don't know all of their names because I'm not a member of this team. They are examining the opinions of Poles about their expectations – he said. – I think the management will choose the candidate who will best meet the expectations of Poles – he added.
Asked if his candidacy was on the table, Bocheński replied: “I'm one of the people supposedly being considered.”
– These are confidential talks at this point, so you are putting me in a very difficult situation, between meandering and certain obligations that I have undertaken – he said when asked about this issue by Grzegorz Kajdanowicz.

He also stated that if he received an offer from Jaroslaw Kaczynskihe would talk about it with the PiS chairman. – I don't like it when we approach the issue of running in this way. I know it's interesting, intriguing, it generates leads, but this is the highest office in the country. It's a great responsibility that you take on your shoulders. And I wouldn't want us to talk too freely – he said.
– If I received such an offer, then yes. But I didn't and no one asked me – he added.
When asked if he was in the previously mentioned studies as a potential candidate, he replied: “very possible.”
