Presidential elections. Kaczyński seeks “young, tall, handsome” candidate, one nominates himself

On Thursday evening, Law and Justice MEP Dominik Tarczyński published a post on social media. “In response to the increasing number of questions and comments: YES. I am ready to run in the upcoming presidential elections,” he declared.

At the same time, he stressed that “the final choice of the candidate remains in the hands of the PiS President – Jarosław Kaczyński”.

In the June elections to the European Parliament, Dominik Tarczyński received 210,942 votes from the third place on the list in the district covering Kraków. This is his second term as an MEP, previously he was also an MP for The Sejm of the Republic of Poland (since 2015).

President PIS Jaroslaw Kaczynski Asked on Monday in an interview with Radio Maryja about the list of his party's potential candidates for the presidential election, he said that it was “shorter and shorter”. He emphasized that there is no shortage of people in his party who “would perform this function perfectly, but first you have to win the election”.

When asked whether PiS would not field a woman, Kaczyński replied that there was a belief in the party that during wartime a woman would not have much of a chance.

– I find it hard to even imagine a model of this woman who would be this candidate. It's obvious with a man: he has to be young, tall, impressive, handsome. Voters set these image requirements high. He has to have a family. He has to know English very well. It would be best if he knew two languages ​​- he said.

Listing other qualities of the ideal candidate, he added that he should be internationally savvy. – This should be a person for whom the world is not something foreign, who has attended conferences and lectures – he emphasized.
