During a press conference in the Slovenian Brdo Castle, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki spoke in favor of the countries of the Western Balkans joining the European Union. – This is an opportunity to increase the chance of the entire European Union for proper development, to protect borders against unauthorized illegal migration.
On Wednesday, during a press conference at the EU-Western Balkans summit, Prime Minister Morawiecki said, inter alia, that the countries of the Western Balkans should be supported in joining the European Union.
– Nature abhors a vacuum, and political nature abhors a vacuum. If the European Union shows a black water to the countries of the Western Balkans, Russia, China or Arab countries will definitely be interested in this area even more – he said.
The Prime Minister also added that Poland, together with the countries of Central Europe, “represents a very strong voice in the integration of the Western Balkan countries with the European Union,” and that he does it in order to “increase development opportunities and maintain stability and maintain peace in Europe”.
The EU-Western Balkans Summit will end on Wednesday afternoon after two talks. It is to be another opportunity to resume discussions on the commencement of accession talks with Albania and North Macedonia. On this issue, a compromise was reached, which remains skeptical about, inter alia, France, the Netherlands and Denmark.
