The death penalty should be allowed for the most serious crimes. In this regard, I do not agree with the teaching of the Church, because I am in favor of the death penalty, but we do not have it, said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

Mateusz Morawiecki answered questions from Internet users on Monday. One of them concerned the reintroduction of the death penalty for the most serious crimes, including high treason.

The Prime Minister stated that in his opinion the death penalty “should be rethought” and “not acted hastily like the modern world”, which quickly wants to eliminate it.

– In my opinion, the death penalty should be allowed for the most serious crimes. I think it was such a premature invention of the 90s or earlier. In this regard, I also do not agree with the teaching of the Church, because I am in favor of the death penalty – he explained.
