Giuffre wants compensation from Prince Andrew
“Twenty years ago, Prince Andrew’s wealth, power, position and connections enabled him to take advantage of a frightened, defenseless child who could not be protected. He should have been held accountable a long time ago,” stated the lawsuit filed in federal court in New York.
The woman is demanding compensation “for violating her bodily integrity,” she writes on the NBC News website.
The American has made such allegations before, which was reflected in court documents and television interviews. Monday’s lawsuit, filed with the federal district court for the Southern District of New York, saw it as a new chapter in her quest to bring the now 61-year-old prince to justice.
“The powerful and the rich are not exempt from responsibility for their actions. I hope other victims will find that you cannot live in silence and fear, but you can get your life back by speaking out loud and demanding justice,” argued Giuffre.
No prince’s comment
Prince Andrzej has not yet commented on the current lawsuit. Earlier, the Duke of York flatly denied having ever had sex with Giuffre.
“In a controversial interview with the BBC from 2019, Andrzej said, among other things, that he did not remember ever meeting her, despite the widespread photo showing him in her company. He also claimed that in 2001 he was in a pizzeria with his daughter on when – as Giuffre claims – they had sexual contact in London, “reports NBC.
