Prince Harry, in his autobiography “Spare”, which is due out next week, describes a brawl between him and his brother William, which was supposed to take place in 2019, the British “Guardian” reports after learning its content. As he adds, according to the account of the younger son of King Charles, the Prince of Wales and heir to the throne pounced on him and knocked him to the floor. Talk about Meghan Markle was supposed to lead to fisticuffs between the brothers.

The incident allegedly took place in 2019 at Nottingham Cottage, a house located on the grounds of Kensington Palace where Harry and Meghan lived in 2017. As Harry writes, the brothers met there to talk about their strained relationship, the crisis in royal family and struggles with the press.

The author of “Spare” mentions that William called his wife Meghan “difficult”, “naughty” and “rough”. Harry was to state that it was “parroting press narratives” and that he expected more from his brother.

As Harry writes, there was a sharp exchange between the brothers. William was supposed to say he was trying to help.

“Are you serious? Are you trying to help me? Sorry, is that really what you call it? Helping me?” replied Harry, quoted by the “Guardian” in excerpts from the book. As he claims in the book, his words infuriated the heir to the British throne, who began to approach him, hurling curses. Harry writes that he got scared and went to the kitchen, and his angry brother followed him.

A brawl between brothers

Harry writes that he gave his brother a glass of water and said, “Willy, I can’t talk to you when you’re like this.” As he relates, William put down his glass and approached him.

“Everything happened so fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripped my necklace, and knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dog bowl, which broke under my back and the shards stuck into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got up and I told him to get out” – recalls the author of “Spare”.

Harry writes that William urged him to give him back by challenging him to a fight. Harry claims that when he refused, William left, but returned moments later. “He looked remorseful and apologized,” he relates in his autobiography. On his way out again, William would turn around and snap at his brother, “you don’t have to tell Meg about this.”

“You mean you attacked me?” asked Harry. “I didn’t attack you, Harold,” William replied. Harry writes that he did not tell his wife about the incident at first, but called his therapist instead. He told his wife about the whole incident only when she noticed “scratches and bruises” on his back. “She wasn’t surprised or angry at all,” recalls Harry. She added that she was “terribly sad”.

The famous autobiography of Prince Harry

The Diaries of Britain’s Prince Harry will be released on January 10 this year. Initially, they were supposed to be released at the end of 2022, but due to death Queen Elizabeth II and the accompanying period of mourning it was decided to delay the premiere.

The book will be titled “Spare”, which can be translated as spare or spare, and is a hint at how Harry viewed his place in the royal family. The book will reveal, among other things: behind the scenes of the decision to resign from the duties of a member of the royal family and reveal the details of the trip to USA.

The biography, even before its premiere, evokes great emotions, especially among the British public. When the cooperation between the prince and the publishing house was announced in 2021, speculations began – how honest Harry will be. According to Penguin Random House’s announcements at the time, the book will include details about the prince’s childhood, growing up in the royal family, his subsequent military service, his marriage to Meghan Markle, as well as his experiences after becoming a father.

“I am not writing this as the prince I was born, but as the man I have become. (…) I hope that by telling my story – both ups and downs, mistakes and lessons learned – I can show that regardless of Where we come from, we have more in common than we think,” Harry wrote in a press statement published by Penguin Random House.
