A visit to a military base in Podkarpacie, a meeting with British and Polish soldiers, a visit to a refugee point in Warsaw, meetings with the President of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski, a conversation with Andrzej Duda at the Presidential Palace – these are the highlights of Prince William’s two-day visit to Poland.

Prince William, the heir to the throne of Great Britain, arrived in Poland on Wednesday for a two-day unannounced visit.

On Wednesday afternoon, the prince took part in meetings in Rzeszów, during which he learned the details of the support that the Polish and British military provide to the Ukrainian armed forces.

Meeting with British and Polish soldiers and with Minister Błaszczak

William visited the 3rd Podkarpacka Territorial Defense Brigade and met with the Minister of National Defence Mariusz Blaszczak and spoke with Polish and British soldiers “about their close cooperation, which was developed in support of Ukraine.”

It was also reported that the prince visited the British Army base in Rzeszów, where he met with British military personnel and learned more about the work he is doing with the Polish armed forces to provide support to Ukraine. This staff consists mainly of Royal Artillery and support units drawn from various regiments throughout the United Kingdom.

Visit to the refugee point in Warsaw, meeting with Trzaskowski

On Wednesday evening, Prince William visited a refugee accommodation point in Warsaw, where about 300 Ukrainian women and children are currently staying.

“During the visit, His Royal Highness Prince William will meet with the Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw, and then listen to the stories of the residents of the residence center and learn about their experiences related to moving to Poland. The Prince will also meet volunteers who support displaced persons and sort gifts, which the center has received from members of the Polish community to be transferred via the ‘free shop’, it was announced before the meeting.

Prince William also has a number of activities planned for Thursday. Among other things, he will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip of Edinburgh laid a wreath at the same grave during their state visit to Poland in 1996.

Meeting with President Andrzej Duda

William will meet the President at the Presidential Palace Andrzej Duda. “I will thank the Poles for their continued generosity and hospitality in these difficult times,” it said.
