Passengers on a flight from Malta's capital Valletta to Poznań boarded the hot plane several times, waiting for it to take off. “People were fainting, it was hot,” they said in reports sent to Kontakt 24. As they said, the stewardesses, instead of handing out water to the passengers, started selling it.

The Ryanair flight from Valletta was supposed to land in Poznań on Sunday after 12:00. However, it arrived at Ławica Airport over six hours later. According to passengers, there was a problem with the air conditioning in the plane.

– We would like to know what happened. We got on the plane. At first it was quite hot and we were waiting because something was wrong. They told us that there was a small failure. While it was being repaired it became terribly hot in the plane, so they took us off the plane. We waited for over an hour – said Cezary Wawrzyniak, one of the passengers on the plane.

– Apparently, a repairman was there and they couldn't fix it – explained another passenger, Sebastian Żerkowski. He added that they boarded the plane three times in total.

Medical assistance was needed

– We got back on the plane, which was warm. Then it turned out that the airspace was occupied and we had to wait an hour – said Cezary Wawrzyniak.

After a few dozen minutes, the first passengers began to feel unwell. – One person fainted, a doctor was called. An ambulance was brought and other people started to get out. Then we got out again and waited for another boarding of the plane, which was supposedly being cooled at the time – said Wawrzyniak.

They didn't even get water

Passengers complain that despite a delay of several hours, the carrier did not even offer them free water.

– Five minutes before the two-hour mark, when they were supposed to give us something to drink, they invited us back onto the plane, says Joanna Wolska.

Sebastian Żerkowski adds that the stewardesses, instead of handing out water to the passengers, sold it. – People fainted, it was hot – he emphasizes and announces that he will seek compensation from the carrier. – The most important thing is that we arrived safely – he says.

Despite attempts to contact the carrier by telephone and email, we were unable to obtain Ryanair's position regarding the circumstances of this flight.
