Professor Krzysztof Simon from the Medical University of Wroclaw said in “Faktach po Faktach” that currently coronavirus infection is diagnosed in people who show any symptoms of the disease. “Those who are asymptomatically infected – mostly young people – we don’t register them,” he said. In his opinion, “there are certainly more cases” than the official statistics provide.

Professor Krzysztof Simon, head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Hepatology of the Medical University in Wrocław, spoke in “Faktach po Faktach” on TVN24 about the epidemic situation in the city where he works.

– After a period of single cases in July and August, now the number of these cases is slowly increasing – he said. He pointed out that it is happening “very slowly” because “Wrocław is a city with a high degree of grafting”.

He also added that diagnosis of coronavirus infection occurs primarily in people who have any symptoms of the disease. – Those who are asymptomatically infected – mainly young – do not register them, because they will not report anywhere. There are certainly more such cases, he assessed. – Fortunately, the vulnerable population has decreased dramatically and drastically – pointed out the TVN24 guest.
