In connection with the escalation of violence and acts of vandalism during protests against rally at immigrants, the mayor of Los Angeles Karen Bass announced the introduction of a police hour in the city center. Protests also last in other large cities, including New York.
Protests in Los Angeles broke out on Friday after the immigration service (ICE) detained an immigrants in the workplace. Since then, in California, but also in other parts USApeople go out into the streets as a sign of solidarity with immigrants. In response to protests, the US president sent a national guard to California and maritime infantry soldiers, which was criticized by the state and urban authorities.

Bass emphasized that the police hour will apply only at the center, which is a small part of the city, and will probably be abolished after a few days. The mayor announced that at night from Monday to Tuesday in Los Angeles 23 service points were plundered. There were also many cases of vandalism. Bass also called on the administration Donald Trump to stop rating at immigrants.

Sheriff Los Angeles Jim McDonnell drew attention to the growing number of arrested: 27 people were arrested on Saturday, on Sunday 40, on Monday 114, and on Tuesday – 197. McDonnell warned that people who would be in the center during the police hour could be arrested. “Introduction of a curfew after a few consecutive days of increasing riots in the city is needed to defend life and protect property,” he emphasized.

Protests in New York
Protests against the immigration policy of the current administration also take place in other large cities.
On Tuesday, hundreds of people protested in front of the federal authorities in New York, including immigration courts. The inflammatory point was the intensified arrest of immigrants who appeared on interrogations in the courts and then were detained by federal agents.
The manifestations took place in several places in Manhattan, including near the offices of the Office for Immigration and Customs (ICE). Hundreds of participants went out into the streets, carrying clearly yellow boards with the slogan “Ice Out of Nyc”. Protesters chanted passwords, including offensive terms for officers.

Some demonstrations, which have been going on in the city since Saturday, had a tense course. They resulted in arrests of several dozen people and minor confrontations with law enforcement agencies. However, they did not lead to the chaos that was observed in Los Angeles.
Protests also take place in Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, Austin, Dallas and other cities.
