A 45-year-old man was fatally wounded with a knife in Pruchnik (Podkarpacie). Two people were arrested in the case, including his 38-year-old partner. The circumstances of the man's death are under investigation.

Jarosław police press officer, Asst. pcs. Anna Długosz informed that the incident took place on Wednesday, in one of the residential buildings in Pruchnik. The man was injured with a knife.

“An investigation team together with a forensic technician was sent to the site. The prosecutor participated in the activities,” said Asp. pcs. Długosz.

She added that the scene of the incident was inspected, traces were secured and photographic documentation was made.

A 38-year-old and a 19-year-old arrested

Two people who may be related to this incident have been detained. This is a 38-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man who were taken into police custody. They are both residents of Pruchnik.

Activities investigating the man's death are being carried out under the supervision of the prosecutor's office in Jarosław.

Prosecutor Małgorzata Taciuch-Kurasiewicz, acting as a spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Przemyśl, to which the Jarosław prosecutor's office reports, said that the fatality was 45-year-old Jan D., and the detained woman was his partner Ewelina M. A 19-year-old man was also detained, not belonging to the family, but for the good of the case, the prosecutor's office is not providing his details for now.

She stabbed him and called an ambulance

The prosecutor added that the incident took place on Wednesday afternoon. 45-year-old Jan D. was wounded with a knife in the left collarbone. Ewelina M. called an ambulance. When the ambulance arrived, the man was already dead.

According to prosecutor Taciuch-Kurasiewicz, alcohol was abused in the family. Jan D. and Ewelina M. have several children together who were taken away from them in the past and are staying in an orphanage.

At the time of arrest, Ewelina M. was under the influence of alcohol.

The man's autopsy took place on Thursday. Prosecutor Taciuch-Kurasiewicz emphasized that only after the autopsy and further activities in the case have been carried out will it be known in which direction the investigation will be conducted and what legal classification of the act will be adopted.
