A PKP Intercity train traveling from Warsaw East towards Łódź was pelted with stones. As assured by the carrier's spokesman, the damage was minor and did not threaten further travel. The train will be repaired.
We received the first information about the incident on Kontakt24. “Between Piastów and Pruszków, someone is shooting pellets at the train windows. The conductor confirmed that this is another such situation, day after day. Today, train no. 19130 on the Warszawa Wschodnia – Łódź Fabryczna route.” – wrote the internet user.
We asked PKP Intercity for details. It turned out that no one had shot, but had thrown stones at the train. – At around 5 p.m., a train travelling from Warszawa Wschodnia to Łódź Fabryczna was pelted with stones. The conductor's team stated that the damage did not pose a threat to the train's further movement. The window cracked, but was not broken. The train continued its route. The damage to the train is minor. No one was hurt – informed Maciej Dutkiewicz from PKP Intercity.
He added that the train will be taken out of service in the evening to repair the window.
