The police located a 23-year-old man who, as they determined, pretended to be a bank employee and obtained access to accounts by phone. He allegedly deceived customers of various banks by claiming that their savings were at risk and should be secured.

Pruszkow’s officers of the department combating economic crime and corruption dealt with a case of fraud involving a bank employee. Their findings showed that a 23-year-old man called the victims, introduced himself as a bank employee and successfully argued that the collected money was at risk.

– The victims, wanting to avoid losing their savings and being convinced that they were saving their money, followed all the instructions of the fraudster. Using access to the accounts of people who were not in Poland, he made transfers from the victims’ accounts – said Staff Aspirant Monika Orlik from the District Police Headquarters in Pruszków in a statement. She added that all these circumstances made the case seem even more difficult to detect. The police analyzed the “traces” that the fraudster could have left.
