Police officers from Przasnysz detained a man who used a radio set adapted to receive police radio correspondence. Police officers also found drugs on the 46-year-old. The man has already been detained and charges have been filed against him.

The officers noticed the man while patrolling the city. The 46-year-old had a listening device with him, thanks to which he was able to listen in on a conversation between the police officer on duty and other officers.

The man was arrested and placed in police custody. It was also discovered that the man had marijuana and a cannabis plant. Detectives found them during a search of his apartment.

Charges of using a wiretapping device

– The 46-year-old has been charged with possession of a significant amount of drugs and using a wiretapping device adapted to receive correspondence on frequencies reserved for police authorities – informed Senior Superintendent PaweÅ‚ Rykowski from the Przasnysz police.

For unlawfully obtaining information from the police, the penalty is a fine, restriction of liberty or imprisonment for up to two years. In turn, for possession of a significant amount of drugs, a penalty of up to 10 years in prison may be imposed.

The district prosecutor in Przasnysz applied a preventive measure in the form of police supervision against the suspect. The man is also obliged to notify investigators of his intended departure and return date.
