One person was injured and two were taken to hospital as a result of a gas explosion in a multi-family building in Przeworsk (Podkarpacie). 19 people were evacuated from the building. According to the fire brigade, there was most likely an explosion of gas leaking from the cylinder.
According to Brigadier Marcin Betleja, press spokesman for the Podkarpackie Voivodeship Commander of the State Fire Service, the fire brigade received information about the incident on Thursday (September 26) before 6 p.m.
– 7 fire brigades from the Przeworsk district were dispatched to the site. It turned out that there was an explosion in one of the apartments on the ground floor of a two-story multi-family building. Most likely, gas leaking from the cylinder – said Brig. Bethlehem.

A woman was injured in the explosion and was taken to hospital. A man was also taken to hospital, probably feeling unwell due to stress. 19 people were evacuated from the building. None of the other tenants were injured.
A building inspector was called to the site and found that the structure of the two-story building had not been damaged. Therefore, he allowed them to return to their apartments. Most of the evacuated people decided to do so.
Three families benefited from the help offered by the city. “The family living directly above the premises where the explosion occurred and other people in need of support were directed to our apartments, which we have for crisis situations,” said Wojciech Superson, deputy mayor of Przeworsk.
As a result of the explosion, a fire broke out in the apartment. It was extinguished very quickly. The fire did not spread to other rooms.
The circumstances that led to the explosion and fire are being investigated.
