Tragic accident in Przysucha in the Masovian Voivodeship. The day before All Saints’ Day, a 22-year-old driver fatally hit a 17-year-old.
The incident took place on Tuesday, October 31. At 9:45 p.m., the officer on duty at the Przysucha police station received a report about a road accident that occurred on Radomska Street.
The 17-year-old died on the spot
– Preliminary findings of the officers working at the scene of the incident show that a 22-year-old Mazda driver, driving on national road No. 12 towards Radom, hit a 17-year-old who was crossing the road. Despite the rescue operation, the pedestrian died on the spot, said staff midshipman Aneta Wilk, spokeswoman for the police headquarters in Przysucha.
The policewoman also informed that the driver’s breath test showed that he was sober. – The police and the prosecutor’s office are explaining the causes and circumstances of this tragic accident – she added.
The police reminds about the regulations
Staff aspirant Wilk emphasized that the police appealed to all road users to “exercise particular caution and apply the principle of limited trust.”
– In June 2021, new regulations came into force that increase pedestrian safety on roads. Therefore, we would like to remind you that when approaching a pedestrian crossing, the driver is obliged to exercise particular caution and reduce speed so as not to endanger any pedestrian on or entering the crossing and to give way to a pedestrian who is on or entering the crossing. this is a crossing, the policewoman emphasized.
She emphasized that “the new regulations do not release pedestrians from the obligation to exercise special caution.” – Pedestrians are still prohibited from entering the road directly in front of a moving vehicle, including at a pedestrian crossing – she added.
